Here are some shelter dogs who have redefined modern art. The movement called Canismo is using art to support and promote the adoption of shelter dogs. Using animal friendly paint, the creators of this video helped these dogs create18 unique masterpieces that surely rival the Jackson Pollocks sitting on museum walls. Here is an excellent example of art in action.
The imagery used is a deep metaphor for the struggle facing sheltered dogs, from overcrowding to breed prejudice. "The shake of the paint reveals a remarkable exercise of freedom, where each drop of ink bears the stain of prejudice. The combination of different colors in the paintings shows the mixture of breeds, as random and as beautiful as each mongrel dog."
